Luciana Salazar Ortega was born on November 7, 1980, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a toddler, her parents began taking Luciana from one audition to the next, until she landed her first job at the age of 4. It was a television commercial that only aired locally but it provided a taste of fame that Luciana quickly found irresistible.
By the time she was 15, Luciana had established herself as a model and then used her new star status to start an acting career. Her first job as an actress came in 2000, with a one off part in the popular Argentinean soap, Poné a Francella. Luciana began to work hard at expanding her notoriety beyond Argentina. A series of appearances within the pages of newspapers and magazines around the World certainly proved helpful, though there’s little doubt that Luciana’s profile exploded with a risqué appearance at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards Latin America. While walking down the red carpet, Luciana opened the top of her shirt to reveal well placed items covering her nipples. The bold move transformed Luciana into an instant sex symbol among MTV viewers and beyond.
